New Beginnings.....AGAIN!

Alright.  We are moving, again.  This time, to an apartment.  I will have a very small balcony, facing sun during the day, so any gardening for me, for who knows how long, will be balcony gardening.  I'm going to do my best to make the best of not having a garden plot anymore, and learn as much as I can about balcony gardening.  I didn't plant much yet, knowing I was going to move, so I only have pumpkin, onions, pole beans and I will take a few raspberry starts with me.  I will hopefully find tomato and other vege plants at the farmers market in the next month, and have a little garden on our balcony.  I'll be sure to post pictures once we are all moved!  Until then, I won't be posting.

Namaste, and happy gardening!

Fake It Till I Make It...:)

Alright!  I've been through a good month or more of "should I be planting, if I'm moving soon?", and "I'm putting in App's, maybe I shouldn't bother".  Let some of the new plot grow grass back in.......and today, I decided to just plant, and whatever happens, will happen!  If I end up moving in a month, I'll give a bunch of plants away!  Maybe I'll be able to take some with me, for the apartment balcony (assuming I get the apartment I want).  Doesn't matter really, what DOES matter is that I plant, cause it makes my heart happy!

These are potatoes.  I moved them from the compost bin!  They were growing like this in the compost bin, so I took them out, and put them in the soil!

So, here is where the poor little garden is so far....
This is three potato mounds...

Pumpkins in the corner, and it all looks like a mess!  I took the picture for a "before", as I know it will look so much better, later!

What the beans are looking like...

The Start Of A New Garden...

Well, I have moved from the Green house, back in December. I had to leave most of the garden, my compost, trellace, and other things garden related. I am starting over, brand new again, making the best of it all, moving on, and ready to learn more about gardening! ;)
Here is some pictures of us making a new garden plot.

Here is our starts, after many weeks....in dixie cups

I took the starts from the peat pellets, and transplanted them into dixie cups (above) till they can be planted in the garden.
Here is how they all started....
My new compost "bin". Just fencing made into a cone. Right outside the back door, for easy dumping, and very close to the garden.
This is the new plot to be plowed. Hard, lawn area. Ugh.

Day two....Canyon helping. Mike came over to get the boys, and ended up helping a bit...
Here is what it looks like so far, baren. Getting ready to plant the raspberry starts.
Here is one of the new starts. They are third year, and I'm hoping I planted soon enough after digging them up from their last home, we might get some berries from them this year!
